Electrical items (disposal)
Household electrical items such as broken washing machines, vacuum cleaners, printers or food mixers must be disposed of carefully.
This is because they will not be collected as part of your normal rubbish collection, and often contain harmful chemicals, which can pollute the environment.
Some local councils provide a collection service for unwanted ‘white goods’, but there may be a charge. Alternatively, you should take unusable items to your local recycling centre.
